Yes. The SAFE HUB™ Navigator works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It walks you to the right next step and connects you to 24/7 lines like 911, 988, 211, and — in Howard County, Maryland — Grassroots Crisis Intervention, the county’s front door for emergency shelter.
Is SAFE HUB free for families?
Yes. Families never pay to use SAFE HUB. Schools, shelters, and government agencies fund SAFE HUB by licensing it for their staff and programs.

Yes. SAFE HUB Enterprise brings crisis navigation infrastructure to districts, shelters, and agencies, and is fundable through sources including McKinney-Vento, IDEA Part B, and Title I.
Is my information kept private if I use SAFE HUB?
SAFE HUB does not require forms and never receives or stores your personal information or your documents. The Navigator runs entirely on your phone. Anything you choose to keep — your plan, My Help Tracker, your My documents checklist — stays on your phone, and nothing is sent unless you send it yourself, to someone you choose. Use the Quick Exit button (or press Escape twice) to leave instantly. Quick Exit can’t erase your browsing history, so if someone else checks your phone, use a private (incognito) window.
Does SAFE HUB help with respite care?
Yes. The SAFE HUB™ Navigator explains how families in Howard County, Maryland can ask for respite, including the Maryland DHS Respite Care Program through Howard County Social Services (410-872-8700), the Autism Waiver and Developmental Disabilities Administration waiver lists, and caregiver respite through the Howard County Office on Aging (Maryland Access Point, 410-313-1234).
Where can Howard County families get a free interpreter or translated school papers?
HCPSS Language Access Services (410-313-7102) provides interpreters and translation for school families, and Chin, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish speakers can leave voicemail in their own language. Luminus Network for New Americans, formerly FIRN (410-992-1923), helps immigrant families with forms, interpreters in about 30 languages, and immigration counseling at modest fees.
Can I read SAFE HUB in Korean?

Machine translation can be wrong, so check important details by phone. When you call, say “Korean, please” to ask for an interpreter. Disability Rights Maryland, formerly the Maryland Disability Law Center, provides free legal help to Maryland residents with disabilities when the problem fits its yearly advocacy plan. Where can I get help with rent, utilities, or food in Howard County?
For rent help, call Howard County Social Services at 410-872-8700 and ask about emergency assistance for families. The Community Action Council of Howard County (410-313-6440) stopped taking new housing applications on September 26, 2026, because of funding limits, but still helps with energy assistance, the Howard County Food Bank, and Head Start enrollment.
