What fellows gain.
Two students. Two tracks. One program built to fit them both.
Each fellow follows their own pathway, task sequence, accommodation plan, and documentation package. Here is what that looks like in practice.
AI + Digital Operations
Strong pattern recognition and analytical focus. Prefers asynchronous tasks and written communication. Earns SSL hours toward HCPSS graduation requirement. Matched to AI + Digital Operations based on tech interest, attention to detail, and preference for independent, structured work.
- All tasks asynchronous
- Written instructions only
- Flexible 5-day task windows
- No required video participation
- Sensory-friendly check-in format
- AI tool comparison report
- Plain-language content audit
- Staff SOP document
- Prompt template library
- Demo Day one-pager
This track satisfies HCPSS SSL requirements in the Career Awareness and Community Service categories. Tasks develop digital literacy, workplace communication, independent project completion, and professional documentation — core competencies in HCPSS’s graduation framework.
Neurodiversity + Accessibility
Strong visual attention and detail orientation. IEP employment goal: complete a structured work experience with documented supervisor evaluation. Matched to Neurodiversity + Accessibility because her lived experience as a disabled person is the credential this pathway is built around.
- Picture-supported task cards
- Chunked single-step instructions
- Captioned video check-ins
- Extended task windows
- Transition coordinator loop-in
- Accessibility review forms
- Mobile usability report
- Plain-language word list
- “What I Did” work summary
- Supervisor final evaluation
This track directly addresses HCPSS IEP employment and transition goals: completing a structured work experience, demonstrating workplace communication, following multi-step instructions, and self-advocating with supervisor support. All tasks generate the documentation a transition team needs for annual IEP review and post-secondary planning.
Designed for students. Built for institutional partners.
District-ready by design
The fellowship supports shared orientation, structured weekly deliverables, virtual check-ins, individualized documentation, team leadership practice, and a culminating Demo Day. Remote delivery allows the model to serve students beyond Howard County while preserving supervision and progress reporting. Every fellow is assigned a named AJF program staff supervisor. Weekly task reviews, progress documentation, and attendance are coordinated directly with the referring school or transition team.
